Who Qualifies For The Bursary Or College Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application procedure.

Applications are now open and may close on fifteen December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must meet the subsequent requirements:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who emanates from a home having a combined gross household earnings that does not exceed R350 000 for every annum.

• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined house earnings won't exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and need not submit any evidence of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent inhabitants from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.

Applicants are reminded to deliver the proper Identity Doc numbers, names, and surname, as reflected in their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds individuals who are studying or intend to study at a public university or TVET college website in South Africa.

All students who wish to read more study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do nsfas 2025 not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
